AIM Qualifications Level 3 Award – Canine Care, Behaviour and Welfare

Introduction
Advance your expertise with the Level 3 Dog Breeding course
Designed for experienced breeders who want to formalise their knowledge, strengthen their licensing position, and operate at the Higher Standard.
This programme combines the AIM Qualifications Level 3 Award in Canine Care, Behaviour & Welfare with two specialist modules:
- Licensing Guidance for Dog Breeders (Flashcards & Quizzes)
- Live 1-to-1 Tutorial: Dog Breeding (Licensing & Inspection Preparation)
Already an experienced breeder? This course is built for you. Many students come to this programme with solid practical knowledge of whelping, neonatal care, and breeding management. The Level 3 isn’t about teaching you the basics. It’s about gaining a recognised Ofqual qualification that reflects the competence you already have, and that positions you strongly when it comes to licensing and inspection.
Under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018, a licence requires demonstrated competence. That can be shown through experience alone, but holding a relevant Level 3 qualification is what unlocks the Higher Standard, including a 4 to 5 star rating, a licence duration of up to three years, and a stronger overall inspection outcome.
Inspectors assess welfare knowledge, breeding and neonatal practice, disease control, behaviour and socialisation, and record keeping. This course prepares you to evidence competence across all of those areas with confidence.
Study flexibly online and gain the qualification that gives your breeding business the credibility, compliance footing, and professional standing it deserves.
